1999 Maxima fuel tank, cannot find one

Hey does anyone know where to buy a fuel tank for a 1999 Max. It seems like they disappeared off the planet. Any help is appreciated.

17202-0L800 is the part number. Check with junkyards around you. Google turns up one on eBay for around $200 and one on Nissan parts deal for over $500

You haven't been looking very hard ... or at all.

Thanks. Spectra NS16A is for up to 1998. Should be the same as for a 1999.
But why does Spectra say it is not for a 1999? I need to keep digging.

17202-0L800 is still the part number for the 99 https://m.ebay.com/itm/17202-1L000-17202-OL800-Fuel-Tank-Gas-New-for-Nissan-Maxima-Infiniti-NS16A-/121544507283 lists both part numbers in the title, they are interchangeable

17202-0L800 is the part number for the 1999, 1998, 1997, 1996. I did not check the 1995.

Hi "Violator". So I went to the exact Ebay site you gave and it says NOT compatable with 99 Maxima. Seems all 1997 thru 1999 should be the same but even the Spectra website says otherwise. Any ideas?

Hi "brianoats" if that's even your real name, im not seeing where it says it's not compatible but it specifically states the part number for the 99 Maxima in the title. Get the one off Amazon for 130 like maximaxi said, the Spectra tank seems to be the same as the Maxima and for the record once again the 99 has the same part number as the other years so it should definitely still work. If you don't trust the government your other option is to pay $500 for the OEM tank or go to a junkyard with a 99 and take the gas tank just to be completely positively surely absolutely positive it will fit

But just for the record, if you go to the Ebay site you gave me, go to Compatibility and fill in the blanks, it will say "Not compatible with 99 Maxima".

I just thought the putting name in quotations was funny I wasn't meaning to be an asset you're right I was looking in the description I've never used the eBay part fitment checker, the part number in the title is the part number for the 99 it's something funky with the listing or the system. If it fits the 98 it will fit the 99 because that's the part number listed for the 99 according to Nissan who I'd trust to know their own car more than eBay. Good luck
