Digital clock connection loose?

When the car starts the clock is off, but if I lightly tap the screen it comes on? Does anyone know what could be wrong or what could fix this? Thanks alot!

Why not take it apart and wiggle/test the wire? Then go to a junkyard and pull one for a $5-10 if it's bad

Common problem that can usually be fixed by resoldering the connections inside the clock
Easy fix, I've done it a few times

I've done exactly that, in a Toyota Corolla.

Yes, re soldering works.

The cars vibration eventually breaks the solder joints. This is a well known issue in the speedo and tach. Heating the existing solder joints until the solder turns into a liquid state restores electrical function.

I've fixed the speedo on outhe car as well as the clock on a Toyota this way.

Remove the clock. Remove it's rear cover to expose the electronics. Heat the solder. Reassemble.

This probably takes less time than any other method. It is also a free fix.
