Are you sure you need a whole new heater core?
If it's just the plastic pieces that go through the firewall that broke, you can buy this from the dealer for about $35 a pop..much easier and cheaper than a new core

Thanks guys, I searched for a thread with pics but got nothing. I am going to water test it tomorrow to see if I can find the leak. Hopefully it's one of the plastic hoses, if not I guess I'll have my hands full for a couple of hours

I did mine several years ago. It was really a 1st class pain in the A$$. I believe that I used the FSM as a step-by-step procedure. Make sure that you label all of your wire connectors and hoses as you proceed, or you will be doing it again when something doesn't work.

The "funny thing" is that I wound up not putting in the new one. When I looked at the factory one, I could not see any issues with it, and re-installed it. Oddly enough, it never leaked again, and it still going strong on my '98. Unless you are in a warm climate, I would try to delay the job until next Spring. You will have to pull the whole dashboard out.
