Battery dying on 95

In early October I took my 95 Maxima to a guy I found on C/L to replace rusted sheet metal. So for 3 months.it has been sitting with him starting it occasionally. To pull in to work into his schedule.Preagreed upon deal to get it done reasonably.Well while I was gone he delivered it today but told my wife we needed to start it everyday cause he had to jump it to start it.Its my opinion that with a 6month old battery starting it without driving it but a few feet and sitting for 3 months caused the discharge.Other than the on going ignition switch problem we have never had a problem.Opinions?

Cars do have parasitic draw. It will run a battery down over a period of time.

So I would use a battery charger to top of the battery.

I would hook up a vom to test charging voltage.

I would also use the vom on the miliamperage setting to test amount of parasitic draw by removing a battery cable and attaching ome vom lead to the battery and one to a cable. Do this when the key is out of the ignition and every electric
Item is off.

Totally possible that the car did not run long enough to fully recharge the battery when it was started in order to pull the car into or out of his shop. Either get the battery charged or drive the car for a good hour or more and see what happens.

same thing happened to my 95 while it sat for a few weeks. i have an optima yellow top and i had it fully charged at a local parts store over night and it seemed to be ok. i let it sit for another week or 2 and it died again. point is is that it has to be driven to cycle an even charge.

Why not perform run an analyzer on that battery or use an OBD2 to test your electrical system some of them have that feature

Update on 95 no start

Put it on my charger at 10 amps then switched to 2 overnight.Car fired right up.Rained and cold all day yesterday so we hibernated all day. Wife went out short time ago and she fired up immediately. Its 16 degrees out so all my worry about a major parasitic draw has been for naught!Agree?
