How does the repair shop do it??????
Say you fail emissions and the shop tells you its code P0174 and they replace your O2 sensor which they say will take care of the code. How are they able to clear the code and get the car to pass the emissions test without driving it for a hundred or so miles? What their trick to get all the systems to read READY????

I am not sure in what state you are, but here in TX you have inspection stations which do ONLY inspections, so there is no car mechanic who is trying to sell you anything ;-)

In new york you can have 2 not ready at these cars old age. A 95 max is exempt in new york from all computer tests.
Please give your state it would help. |

Connecticut. Car needs to be older than 1994 to be emissions exempt.
My car is a 1997. Quite the change from MD - moved to Huntsville a year ago. |
