Help finding or making a simple mod to my OEM trunk spoiler!

Hi first post, just got a new to me 99 SE. Already ordered a bunch of cosmetics from lights to suspension. One thing that has me in question is simple mods I can do to the rear spoiler. I've seen some customization on different cars where they add tasteful looking spacers under the spoiler as to raise and position the spoiler with some more aggressive looking angle. Does anyone know if a kit is sold? If not I'll probably go and try to make one myself out of some plastic.

This one's available at IKEA. I'm pretty sure it's on clearance to ...

Honestly, if you're serious about the "tasteful" thing, you need to just leave your OEM spoiler as OEM.

The way the stock spoiler mounts does not lend well to customization. The outer mounts are plastic ball and socket type, they clip in. Good luck adapting any type of spacer.

Aftermarket replacements use bolts which would be easier to work with. You'd still need to figure out a spacer. This was brought up years ago and I don't believe anyone came up with something that worked. So......

Enter the Type 2, Type X, (or the like) spoiler. Stillen made a spoiler that looked like the stock one raised up with more aggressive angles. It was rare, the mold was lost, it fit like crap. Later, copies were made and sold by other vendors.

I have one in storage. Here is an idea of what it looks like.

Protect the spoiler you have. Be sure to remove any thick sheets of ice from the roof before driving. My son had an ice sheet slide off the roof that snapped off the spoiler mounts.

My advice would be ditch the stock spoiler for looks, there are a few aftermarkets but I didn't like them and settled for a universal lip spoiler. You can also measure the stock and look around junkyards for one you'd like and retrofit it on to the car

This reminded me of a time I was at the junkyard in mini detroit I saw this beat up late 90s Accord with what looked like a giant wing/spoiler made of paper mache. I'm sure there's probably already a few pics of it on the internet.

The effort people put into crap, like the Maxima/el Camino truck. What the ****

Honestly, If you want to get rid of the spoiler, go with a spoiler lip, small but a nice touch to the trunk that makes it look less naked in the back. Keep it simple and don't overdo it because these cars can look great with simple mods. If you overdo it, it won't look too appealing.

I would replace my leaking aftermarket spoiler with a spoiler lip. Are there any recommendations by the group?

I would also, if it didn't entail a trunk lid replacement ...

The "m3 style" spoiler is what I got off eBay. Flexible, easy to install, no complaints. I think they are all the same lip spoiler sold by different people. If a CPL dime sized holes where the stock spoiler mounted is gonna bother you then you should see about a trunk lid at a junkyard

The paper mache Honda accord i saw was a shorter version of this. Read a week or two ago he liked the daytona charger so much he bought a restored one.
