Door unlocks or locks by itself

I am having a problem with my 1996, sometimes the 3 passenger doors will re-lock when I hit the unlock button on the drivers door. Engine idling, I'm sitting in the driver seat and need to unlock the doors so my kids can jump in.

Another anomaly is after arming the alarm, sometimes the doors will unlock causing the factory alarm to go off.

I changed the BCM, the driver side door lock actuator, driver side powewindow/lock switch assembly, BCM.

Sometimes the wires in the door jam break or the insulation cracks from opening and closing the door for 20 years, causing things to short out. Also, if your key fob batteries get weak, that will happen.

Have you checked the other 3 door lock actuators?

If you have 2 FOBs and this only happens when using one, it's most likely the FOB. If both, One or all of the actuators and/or linkage might be on their way out or sticking. There was a recent thread on Actuator replacements and similar problems. Look back a couple weeks.

There is a self diagnosis test for the BCM/door locks. Mine used to lock the other doors. I believe when I changed my door latch switch- the part that hits the striker- it corrected the problem.

Same here. I used to have a problem with my doors locking / unlocking just from closing the driver's door. Something was sticking inside the door somewhere. I replaced the latch and all the rods with ones from a lower mileage parts car I used to have and no more lock problems.
