Fan Switch - Might want to inspect
I had this poorly worded thread - https://maxima.org/forums/4th-genera...mes-found.html
I was trying to find source of radio whine when I notice my fan switch was semi-melted. I went to pullapart and found a switch that was not melted. Installed but switch was still getting hot - close to 200 F.
Figured then it was the fan as on high it was pulling about 19 amps (over 21 amps when on recycle).
Replaced fan with 02 Pathfinder (same as Maxima) but fan switch just as hot pulling 15 amps.
Ended up buying new switch from Advance. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...8hcfMHfsGYc%3D
Ran for 30 minutes and never got warm.
I assume that after 25 years the switch contacts had worn down creating a poor ground causing heat. I would not recommend a pullapart replacement. Mine worked smoothly but generated a lot of heat.
