Power antenna motor/mast
having a difficult time finding a power antenna motor and mast for my 95 Maxima. I did see an advertisement on eBay for an OEM replacement but it was for $308 but I Don’t need one that bad
hoping someone could tell me where I might be able to find one at a decent price or maybe someone on this board has one for sale.

If you could find a working used OEM, that would be the best bet.
A couple of members have used the Metra generic replacements 44-PW22 with some modifications. You'll need to change the wiring plug and rearrange the shaft so it will fit in the original location. It requires some hacking to get a generic Metra to work.

A unit better than the Metra that is made for the maxima is here - http://www.antennamastsrus.com/Nissa...01995-2003.htm. It is more expensive than the metra ($160 vs ~$50) but easier to install because it is made for the Maxima. Their tech support is pretty good.

Hey Dennis,
Do you know if these provide better reception than the originals? I was never really impressed with the reception. And now it's worse than ever. Maybe my Bose Head is dying a slow death.
$160 for the same hurts. LOL
Some of the others here have used other antennas and gotten much better reception. Now that's what I'm talkin about!

I live in an area with strong radio signals, so I can't answer that. But if you are having reception problems on FM only, then it could be the FM antenna. The Bose radio uses a dual (they call it diversity) antenna. The FM antenna are some of those wires in the rear windshield. If one of those wires got nicked and cut, that would hurt the reception.

As always, Thank You Dennis!
FM in the rear windshield? Somehow I thought that was for the FOB signals. Who woulda thunk?
I think someone stole my "EASY" button! LOL
I live in the Metro NY area and maybe what they're putting out has changed as well!

The 98 is running with the antenna mast in the down position. I couldn't get the aftermarket antenna to work without blowing fuses. I left it disconnected. FM reception is ok. May not be as good as if the mast were extended plus the rear window antenna. Nobody is complaining about reception at this point.

Or take the easy way out and look at the drawing in the service manual on page 130:
