Key Fob Not Programing

I have a 1999 mid year Maxima. I have tried for hours now trying to program my new keyless entry key fob, but it’s not working.

I am am able to get the car into ‘Programming Mode’. I follow all the steps to get it programmed, but when I get to the last step of actually clicking the lock button on the fob nothing happens.

I have tried
•open the door, close the door
•lock the doors from the driver side
•key in the ignition 6 times til hazards blink 2 times
•turn the key to ACC
•click the lock button on the key fob 1 time

NOTHING HAPPENS!!

HELP.

Already tried a new battery, same thing happens.

Nissan OEM or other aftermarket?

Also, do you have a DMM or voltmeter to make sure the batteries still have a charge? Just in case.

Aftermarket

Do they offer a Customer Support website or phone number?

Also, it's late on the East Coast. Be patient and hopefully the people who have done this recently might have some additional tips tomorrow!

I know..... You just want it to work! Me too! LOL

I’m not sure. My boyfriend got it off amazon.

Just checking, but ACC is one click back from running. No idiot lights on the dash, but the radio will go on!

If you get into programming mode( which it appears you have), then make sure the fob battery is good. Otherwise, you might just have a crap new aftermarket fob. What brand is it or where is it from?

same thing happened to me with a stock remote, i'm afraid you might have entered into " THE PROGRAMMING ZONE". make sure your actuator ( box in the trunk ) is plugged in and free from clutter. then, try it again, afterwards standing all around the vehice after lights flash. i got mine to work by standing behind the car and holding the remote up to the window. it's really trial and error and luck i'm afraid. patience grasshopper.....:wiggle:

”where did it come from where did it go”

o’reilly’s has a counter display test rig that lights up when you press your remote button...

Maybe the remote you have is not the correct one. Check the FCC ID number. It has to be A269ZUA078 or else it will not work.
