Battery Box/Cover/Concealer ...

Trying to replace my 2.5 year old battery under it's 3 year replacement warranty last evening, I got just little bit bit**ed-out by the manager of my local "previously preferred" Advance Auto parts store on accounta I was returning a battery from which I had removed all of the decals.

If it matters, I do this because I don't feel that the appearance of a sticker laden battery goes well with the over-all aesthetics of my engine compartment.

Anyway ... my question to you guys is ... do any of you use or are any of you familiar with a nice, plain battery box, battery cover or concealer to fit the battery that remains mounted in it's original engine compartment location?

I've got an OEM Ford box/cover but's way too large.

I've got a GM box in my wife's Saab SUV but it's for a side terminal battery.

I haven't had any luck locating anything for the group 24F batteries.

Input?

Two and a half years?

Dude? I gotta say why would you ever use them?

I have had two Bosch batteries in my 99 and the first lasted just over 7 years and the second just over 6 years and puked right after my alternator went bad and I installed the same Hitachi the car came with recently. I bet it would have gone another year.

Bosch on sale at believe it or not..... Pep Boys! That's the winner for 4th Gens

Shoulda told the manager his decals were offensive and called him racist. LOL It seem to work everywhere these days.

I know it's pretty under the hood on your Max. But this might be where enough is enough.

But then again..... Maybe not! LOL

Try using the dimensions of the battery when looking for a neat box instead of battery class.

Some years ago I ordered a new battery box for the Q45. The 24F is a common size for Honda and Toyota models up to 2010. I think the F indicated Ford design from way back.

Infiniti might be selling battery boxes for some of their models that use 24F.

The Q45 battery is a big old group 27.

I guess I'm a bit slothful.

My engine compartment is a tad greasy and not glamorous. I'm more about how a car runs rather than dressing up an area no one sees.

I'd like to see my engine compartment once a month, and only long enough to check the fluid levels.

The F after the group size indicates that the positive and negative terminals are reversed.

Oh my. Rotflmao.

One should re- label those.

Otherwise Old Man Murphy will come for a visit.

Im picturing a dark wet night. A dead battery.
Then some one will follow directions about where to place the cables. Boom. Sparks.

I'd something can go wrong, it will go wrong at the worst possible time.

Of course. Now remember to do that while the battery case says the opposite. Oh and it's a dark rainy night... while under stress.

Craig,

You’re right again.

Infinitipartsdeal says they have the OE cover for the ‘99 I30 available.

For or some reason I never think to look at what Infiniti has available when parts are needed/wanted.

Thanks again for for the reminder.

Move it to the trunk ;)

My 95 came with one stock when I hit the pick n' pull next time I'll see if any of them in the premium lot still have them laying around somewhere.

JSutter 06-23-2019 07:06 AM

You can find them in all sorts of cars.

FWIW, I just threw away mine because it didn't fit my new battery. I think the original was a group 35, I put in a 24F. It's way bigger.

Turbobink 06-23-2019 09:51 AM

I actually went the cheap (est) DIY route ... I moved all of the decals to the backside of the battery.

They’re all still there just like the parts store wants, but you can’t see them unless you look, like I want.

KP11520 06-23-2019 10:16 AM

Exactly!

A nice battery is kinda like a nice female body.......

Why cover it with anything?
