Driver Side Floor Wet
 

I found mold growing on my floor mat and found that my carpet was wet on the drivers side.
Not sure where it's coming in from but my first guess is the sunroof which does not open. I never used it when it
did open so my first guess is to apply some sealer around the outside edge of it and hope for the best.
After that I guess it's the windshield

Searching on this board yielded some interesting possibilities like the left front mud flap, which I do have.

I post back from time to time because I need to fix this problem and I don't want a Flintstone mobile.

Anyone with any Ideas?

Thanks KP. I had joked when I first bought my Max that the sunroof would someday need duct tape. That day is here but I'll use sealer. Aesthetics!

What you need is a disassembly, a hose clamp (or 4 like I did to be DONE with it) and a reassembly.

This is not a job to be minimized. Look at the pictures carefully in the thread posted above.

I'm sorry to hear this. It is way more intimidating than actual reality, but you'd need to be able to work over your head for an hour or so to expose the connection and clamp it. Then an hour and a half to put it together again. Sometimes when removing the headliner, the connection areas rip off and require repair to reinstall it securely. Find a good guy that will fix it for you like he would for himself. Addressing everything properly. Maybe a car interior place that replaces headliners. They can do this faster than most and then connecting the hose again with a hose clamp is at entry level for them. Ask whoever to clamp all 4 corners so it never happens again! About $6 in clamps.

Test for the leak by taking off the A-pillar trim and open the sunroof. Get you a cup of water and fill the channel up with water. You should see it run out behind the front wheel wells. If the water runs out, next poor a cup of water down the edge of the windshield. If you have a leak there, you should be able to spot it. Usually it runs down under the windshield and drips off at the corner. I had this same issue, and I fixed it by using flowable silicone for windshields. I have a thread on here in the 5th gen section that I posted earlier this year with a pic of where the leak was.

Turns out the drain hose under the headliner above the drivers sun visor was loose. My machanic fixed it easily, without having to pull down the whole headliner.
