70-75 shot is plenty...go for the dry system...you don't have to tap into your fuel lines, and it's much more reliable.

performance after a 50-shot was 14.0@99mph with LOTS of wheel spin.

Briguy: Just curious, but about how much did you spend on your nitrous upgrade including misc. install parts, gauges, etc.

I would go for the dry kit. Start off with a standard 50 shot and work your way up from there. You need to do this to familiarize yourself with the nitrous set-up and the best way to use it. Good luck on it guy. You'll love it.

Nitrous is the $hit

I just installed my ZEX kit this weekend, and I'm running 55shot on my auto. You will be amazed with how much the car pulls!
With Don's Valve body upgrade, my auto chirps into second gear!
My kit was $420 (used) came with ZEX purge valve. gauges=$180 extra fuel line =$5

How long does a bottle last and how much does it cost to re-fill it?

NOS sounds awesome...are there any write-ups that anyone knows of that i can find to read more about NOS?

If you get under a 70 shot, you don't need the Fuel Pump, Guages (although they are good to have), and adjustable FPR.

Gotcha! Man, that was one of the longest threads I ever read! But very good. Got 2 questions though:

If I were to run 50 shot in an AUTO, do I need a window switch?

Also, can NOS hurt your car if you do a top speed run and sustain the speed for sometime?

And lastly, how can you "use NOS incorrectly?"

Thanks..

no need for window switch

If you have an auto, there is no need for a window switch, since it shifts for you.

It doesn't do much at top speed ~140mph. You pretty much just wasting nitrous. Beauty of nitrous is torque. It's like having a big block V8. You can pretty much pull away from most cars soon as you hit it.

Its good to have one w/ an auto....

Synki Feb 26, 2002 08:56 PM

I owuld get a window switch if you dont have a VB. Even with a VB, not having a window switch will slowly eat the clutches away (yes autos have clutches between gears). THe stock auto tranny is good for an extra 50-60hp they say. Using the window switch will prevent you from spraying between gears. And no you will nose lose any time down the 1/4 mile if you dont spray between gears. I actually ran faster w/ a window switch then when i didnt.

NX wet kit

Every one on here says go with NOS dry kit but I believe a lot of the opinions come from hopping on the bandwagon. I just went and researched myself. Called a lot of professionals that did and did not selld the different kits. I believe the NX wet kit is the best. Every one says that the wet is bad for the max because of the long intake runners, but do you think at 900+ psi a few inches makesa diference. And the NX nozzle atomizes fuel a lot better than most other brands so you don't get the squirty action that causes the kit to not run rich or lean. Call around to some different people and see for yourself. Plus you can go bigger with wet with out upgrading your fuel system. Call John Stewart. you can get his number at Nitrouswharehouse.com
Good luck
