New girl's race story

Hey, guys. Joined the forum a few weeks ago and have just been lurking. So much info and so little time. Anyway, just had to tell you about last Fri nite. It was my birthday (don't ask which one) and we all go out to the track to see what our cars will do. I raced a 99 firebird in my 95 SE. Me and my Max - 15.7. Him and his firebird - 16.3. He was sooo p***ed off! Not only did he get beat by a girl, but a girl in a 4-door sedan!! This was my first race ever and I really thought it would be alot closer than that. The only mods I have is the Stillen intake and an aftermarket muffler. He told me after the race that he had a chip and something else, I can't remember. He also used some octane boost. I guess that should have told me he was worried. I just took the big a** speaker box out of the trunk, lowered front tire pressure and had less than a quarter of a tank of gas. Now all kinds of guys are challenging me. Gotta get that Y pipe first. This is addicting!

There are members on here running 14's with just an intake arent there? Also once she gets a ypipe she'll be there easy.

With practice, you should definetly be in the high 14s/ low 15s.

meccanoble Feb 28, 2002 06:24 PM

i feel so bad...even the females on this board got modifications for performance...i gotta stop thinking of looks and start working on my speed...not one single solitary modification for performance....

You're assuming she has a 5spd. I'm not.

With those honeycomb rims, beige paint, bra, club banner and half mirror tint...you lost the race for looks a LONG time ago.

I'm pretty proud of such a girl like you!

Way to go - Girl-power!

What's better than a female auto enthusiast? -A female MAXIMA enthusiast! Figuratively, you gelded the poor bastard that night - any guy driving a Firebird probably already has such a fragile ego, that it must have wrecked him for days. :o

Musta been the looooongest drive EVER for him back to the pits/staging & his buddies waiting & snickering away. . .

Work on that R/T & keep adding to the kills list!

Btw, welcome to the Forum.
;)

clee130 Feb 28, 2002 10:56 PM

Welcome and good kill! :D

pocketrocket, sorry, but yeah I do have red/clear tails. Does that make you go slower?

RR95SE Mar 1, 2002 04:28 AM

Well, tried to edit but it wouldn't let me. But I meant to say, NO, I do NOT have red/clear tails. How much HP do those give you?

Stillnmax Mar 1, 2002 09:44 AM

nice, but you should be faster then that. Im almost positive im going to come off sounding like an a-hole, but i dont mean it that way.

Just a muffler, if you had a cat-back exhaust youd be quicker, also practice launching techniques. Yea its an automatic but that doesnt mean you cant do a faux manual launch using the 1st and 2nd gears.

I know your car should be faster b/c my fastest time at the track was a 15.7 and i have a 99se cali spec. Your car a 95se should be faster.

Congrats.

Nah, I've been reading this board for a few weeks, and you are nowhere near sounding like an a-hole. Getting the Y-pipe in a couple of weeks. Gotta get a brake job first. I thought about going through the gears and even taking OD off, but a couple of guys said not to. Let me just say, that was my first race at a track. Hell, I didn't even know where to stage. They guy working my lane was nice enough to help me out. There were so many people there that night that I was only able to get in one run, unless I wanted to stay until midnite. Anyway, had some Smirnoff Ice waiting for me at home.

She drinks and races a maxima, and she knows what a y-pipe is.
Would you merry me?

By the way nice kill, maybe the Pontiac was due for a 1000 mile maintance. You know the one where they rebuild the engine, and it's good for another 1000 miles.

Lets' see, "merry" you? I don't know, I'll have to think about that.. But if you meant "marry" you, sorry, already taken.

I love this board, makes me laugh everytime. At first I used to read treads for info, now I only read them for entertainment purposes.
Almost as funny as SNL.

Stillnmax Mar 1, 2002 01:34 PM

awww cmon ange be nice !

i ran a 15.7 my first time at the track, think trap spd was 89mph or something, it was too long ago, but my maxima is slow.
