fuel injection control fault ? what does that mean (I know wut fuel injection is and stuff) but is there something wrong with the whole fuel injection system ? cuz i had a CEL on the back O2 sensor.... thanks jay !!!!!!!! but does anyone know wut this means ?

you have to have either more numbers or different codes. It sounds like you could have 0707, which is rear O2 sensor, or 0706 which is something else. Pull the code again and then we could possibly help.

this is from Chiltons manual page 4-26

DTC 0706 = fuel injection system malfunction

Detected when:
-fuel injection system does not operate properly
-the amount of mixture ratio compensation is excessive(mixture ratio is to rich or to lean)

Possible Causes:
-intake air leak
-front oxygen sensor
-injectors
-exhaust gas leak
-Incorrect fuel pressure
-mass air flow sensor
-lack of fuel

In The Haynes Manual it gives the same fault but specifies the right bank (rear bank). This would also explain the reason for the O2 sensor code.

hmm... so u think if i just replace my o2 sensors then i'll be straight ?... i just want to say thanks to all the peeps in here that is helping me out !!

The upstream sensors give info to the ECU which tries to compensate for A/F ratios but if you have a bad injector the ECU will not be able to adjust the mixture properly and the O2 sensor will give you the code. Just replacing the sensor will probably not fix the problem, in fact if you were to put a new one in it would more than likely give you the same code if the fuel injection system still has the same problem.

I agree with this assessment. This is an unusual code to get. You have a fuel injection/injector problem, and given the age of your vehicle it probably is accurate. If an O2 sensor was the culprit, you would get an O2 specific code.

Reset the ECU and make sure this specific code pops up again. Then, have the "Fuel Injector Service" at a local Penske Center. It's worth the 60 bucks to try and clean the clogged fuel injection/injector(s). Next step is to test the injectors and replace as needed which is getting into some major bucks.....
