How do you make the Maxima beep when you activate the alarm?

Hi everyone,

I know that on some Nissan cars, when you push the lock button on the fob, the car beeps and flashes its hazard lights. I have a 99 Maxima GLE and I would like to know if it's possible to program it to beep. Right now, it just flashes its hazard lights when I activate the alarm. I also have a '01 Pathfinder LE and I could program it to beep or not beep by holding down both the lock and unlock keys. I tried it on my Max but it doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions?

that feature is not available on the 4th gen Maxima.

However it is a feature on the 5th gen. I believe the
horn beeps and the lights flash when you lock or unlock
the car.

Theoretically you could rewire your horn or an add on siren to the parking lights to honk or beep when armed. I have an aftermarket alarm so I don't know if it will work but it certainly sounds feasible.

Sorry 2 be picky...i got a 01 gle

and when you lock the car, the hazard lights flash and the horn beeps. when unlocking the car, just the hazard lights flash. if you press the unlock button once, it unlocks the driver side door only. if you press it twice, ALL door unlock...i am pretty sure no one cares, but no one is posting anything right now!!

I have a 97 and all I did to get it to beep was to flip the valet switch. Mine is located just past the trunk release.
NOt on the firewall but the wall between the hinges of the door and the firewall. I usually flip it when I wash the car and when I vacuum and clean the interior.

I have a 97 and the trunk release is on the driver door underneath the arm rest... do you mean hood release?

Oh yes it is mine does it beep when I arm the alarm->

plus it has motion sensor. But the dealer raped me I had to pay close to $1,000 for my alarm. I was so happy I was buying a new car that I didn't notice until about a week after.

But, I tried looking for the valet switch, but I couldn't find one. Can you explain again? I might have misunderstood your instructions. Thanks :-)
