Steering Wheel Lock: Can't Engage

Hello all,

Did the search, but nothing on this topic just yet. I can not engage the steering lock on my car. Usually, whenever I park the car and turn the engine off, I usually PRESS the key fully and turning it counterclockwise to release it. After releasing it, I turn the steering wheel to the left until it locks. This will make the steering wheel unmoveable unless you put the ignition key, press it while turning it clockwise to the ignition section.

I tried putting some WD-40 through the keyhole, but it did not make me able to "lock" my steering wheel again.:bawling:

Any inputs?

Best Regards,

Armand

check your battery, if your battery is down/dead it will not disengage. It happened to me once, my stereo and alarm worked, but steering wheel would not unlock.

If thats not it, then i dunno sorry :(

Hey Homie... Where do you live? That's half the battle...

J/K - That happened to me once but it fixed itself.

Noo.....it's not the car I am going to steall...

... it's 100% my car.....:) ...It's funny though, I did not expect that reply. ;)

The battery is not dead...the transmission is in P.... the usual. It's been acting like this in the past one week or so.

From another reply, it fixed itself, eh? In that case...I just wait for sometime then....

Thank you!:)
