My max is running weird

Hey Guys,

I have a 98 max se 5 spd and I have like 75000 miles on it and recently i have been getting power surges during acceleration. It seems like when I hit the gas, it accelerates but doesn't pull as much as before. Any suggestions? I have replaced my Plugs with NGK Platinum, had the fuel injectors cleaned but I have had the throttle body cleaned. I'm getting an oil change today and see if that will make a difference. I'm running Mobil one 5w-30. I'm getting a custom downpipe soon. Well thanks again guys

:bawling:

Change the fuel filter.

Running Wierd?

SOunds like it is time to change your timing belt. In some cases it makes a world of a difference, othertimes its just something that needs to be done at around 70k miles goodluck

Check you ECU to see if there are any issues like knock sensors or like O2 sensors.

Maximas do not have a timing belt. They have a timing chain, and they are ususally good 200-250k miles. -- Change your feul filter.

Changed that

It's me again and Yes I did change the fuel filter as well. Um how do I check my Ecu? I'm not that good with cars but any suggestions or advice would help. Thanks again:confused:

If you want to check codes, do a search...the website is something like http://vbx.... it's really really easy once you see pics of how to do it

but, if you mean check the ECU itself, I can't help.
