Please help clarify light bulb numbers/ might want to add to FAQ's

did a search and just want confirmation. Tell me if I'm wrong.

Stock 4th gen max has
FRONT
9004 headlight
H3 foglight
1156 front bumper light
168 or 194 sidemarker/wedge light
1157 clearance/corner light - dual filament low wattage (8 watt) filament is constant on and high wattage (27watt) filament is on only when turn signal is activated
REAR
1156 reverse light and rear signal light
1157 brake lights

now....from what I understand a I can use the higher wattage 27watt filament if use either a 1156 or 1157.
If I shave off either nub on the 1156 it will fit but the light will be constantly on whether I signal or not.
or
I shave off the upper nub (closer to glass nub) on the 1157 and put it in reverse and the 27 watt filament will be on constant and the 8 watt filament will come on when I signal.

Also, there are no problems with heat if I use a higher wattage filament.

Sidemakers lights are 194.

For the 95 and 96 Maxima the gauge cluster bulbs are 194/168 and the factory ones are rated at 1.5 watts I think. The superwhite replacements run at 3 to 5 watts - considerably hotter but most people don't report any problems.
The A/C unit uses bulbs are best gotten from a dealership. I think all 4th gens use the same bulbs for the A/C unit. Yes, they can be replaced, do a search. Call around to get the best price but they're probably around $3-$4 each, with a total of 4.
The step lamps (the lights in the door) are 194's.
The trunk lamp is a 194.
Keep this thread updated; it's a good idea.;)

:o)

Hmmm, when I need to know my bulb sizes, I just check my owner's manual. ;)

My factory manual doesn't list all the bulbs. ;)
