Post pics of black altezza's please.

I found a pic of altezzas with tinted outside. it looked so hot. I want to get them but carbon fiber ones and tint them from outside. it should look nice. Does anyone have pics of the new black altezza?

yeah, i've been looking for pics of them for such a long time, and the one you've posted is the only one i've been able to find...i'd be grateful to anyone who has some more pics of the black chrome altezzas...anybody?

sorry to intrude on your thread...just in the same boat as you :D

triax37 Apr 24, 2002 01:30 PM

how do you do the tint on those? is it still street-legal?

altezzas in general i believe are not street-legal for our maxes because we don't have any side reflectors, and most states require them...but i don't know if tinting them will make them even more illegal...but i wouldn't think so, since the impala tails are dark as well, and you can still see the brake circle lights...i don't know:confused:

anyone know if these altezzas up on ebay are the same thing as the black chrome?

yeah, i've been checking back on greg's website almost everyday to see when he's getting the black chrome back in stock, but no luck as of now...and i don't really want to preorder one right now without seeing a few more pics if anybody has some

who me?:D ...no, i kinda like the black chrome...i don't like the regular chrome cuz it's too flashy, but i want to change my tails and make it a little more noticeable than just red/clears...cuz one, i won't be able to do them myself, and two, i don't wanna spend close to 200 dollars for something not that noticeable...and on a black max as in that pic, the black chrome doesn't look too bad

looks like nYce maxima has the 5th gen 16"s.

and i think the lights would only look good on a dark, black maxima.

Carbonhead

Damn! Those things look like crap. It's the worst kind of carbon fiber imitation there is. Saw them up close. You get 'em and you'll regret it.

Btw, just an FYI, these Altezzas are really cheap products. Problems:

1) Fit and finish is inconsistent.
2) Production defects are noticeable (e.g. rippled plastic here and there).
3) They DON'T FIT as well as OEM. You'll have some raised surfaces.
4) You LOSE your amber turn signals (these are ALL red).
5) The turn signal and parking/brake bulbs illuminate the same red disk, so the turn signals aren't very distinct--you need brighter bulbs now.
6) The red lens produces a "washed out" kind of red--you really need red 1157 bulbs in them to look half-way decent.
7) There are no side reflective properties, which is against the law. You'll have to add your own.

I think the best hope if you really want to get this different kind of look is to paint them to match your body color. And replace the bulbs as suggested above.

Carbon Fiber is BS. The black chrome is pretty hot. But I have to see them in person.

I have chrome altezza's and I agree with all of the above. I might paint them body color this summer, who knows.:(
