Question about fog light install

After a car accident I had my bumper completly replaced and now I need to install new fog lights. I tried installing them last night for about an hour but then gave up when I could not find a 10mm wrench and had to use screw driver. Anyway my question is even though I aligned the bracket with the three screws on the bumper, the fog light itself with not go in and align with the screws on the host. Do I need to cut away a piece of the bumper to make it fit? Perhapes, I'm doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

You shouldn't have to cut away any bumper material except for the thin flap that goes horizontally across the opening. Have your body shop check the bumper cover install.

you know that's the hardest part besides opening your steering wheel to put new side marker in....i remember when i installed my fogs, it took me forever to put lamp in cause i couldn't get it to align either...it was so hard and frustrating...you need good light down there and a small hand...my neighors little son had to put it in for me....lol....but you don't have to cut anything if you were able to put brackets in...just keep trying like that and see if you can get a little help from one of your mini me friends....
