why doesn't 97-99 inners fit on 95-96 trunk
I know this has been discussed before but I have no idea how to search for it.....can anyone help?

The '95-'96s are larger and have a curve in the plastic of the light (which the '97-'99 doesn't have).

It would work if you used a 97-99 trunk lid as well as the 97-99 inner taillights. I've seen the reverse of that on a Maxima.

I've been curious aboout this too. It seems that the trunk lid itself is the problem. The outers should fit without a problem but the inners will require some major body work or a 97 trunk lid to go with it. I'd go with the latter. Check the junkyards you might find a 97 that mathes oyour color.
Good luck Kevin EDIT: Crap I didn't realize you have a ruby red. For some stupid reason they discontinued that color for 97-99. THat's my favortie color too especially with a black leather interior. That was my first time I saw a fourth gen at that dealer Ruby red with Black interior. Unfortunately if you do find a 97-99 truk you'll have to get it repainted. |
I know...thats what sucks...is that there is no trunk that will automatically match in color......hmmm......
