clearance light question...
the instructions i saw on custommaxima.com said for rewiring the clearance lights you have to be 97-99 (i have 95). if i want these to be white (as opposed to the dim yellow they are now) what do i have to do? just buy the bulbs? if i buy the polarg bulbs for there (and for my clear corners) will it look bad against my stock headlights? thanks.

You dont have to "rewire" anything. Take the bulb out and look at the metal base. You will see two nubs. Use nail clippers to clip off the nub closest to the glass. Then use your fingers to smush the bulb socket just a little. Now put the bulb in backwards. Voila, it will be on the "bright" filament all the time.

ok thanks man...you are talkin about the light directly by the headlight right (ive always heard it as clearance light...some may say cornering)...when i smush the socket how much? and what do you mean put the bulb in backwards? thanks for the info...

He means put the nub in the incorrect side of the socket. This would be like rotating the base 180 degrees. You can use search for more info.

yeah i checked the search...didnt get much results...ill keep tryin though.
thanks for all the help :) |
ok last question i promise...
is "backwards" the same thing as upside down? thanks |
it didnt work...
well i just tried. got the lens housing out (with some effort), took out the bulb and used fingernail clippers to clip the nub closest to the glass...didn't however smush the socket in...how do i do this? but it didnt work...on one setting it was normal then i turned teh bulb around and it didnt work except as a turn signal. any thoughts?

If you clip off the nub closest to the glass you then have two ways to put the bulb in. Now turn the bulb 1/2 turn and put the bulb in. |
If you want, you can rewire a 95-96. Just clip the brown and red wires and switch them (ie attach red to brown and brown to red).
