Just wondering what everyone has their agx's set to
after much tests ive come to realize the best setup of agx's on progress springs are 3 on the front and 3 on the rear for me. im guessing due to such a heavier load on the front with the engine and what not, the stronger damping lets it be a lot more controlled but due to the softer springs it still has a lot of suspension travel. since i dont have a system or anything in the rear, i need to use the springs to my advantage becuz when i make the shocks stiffer it just gets bouncy over every bump becuz nothing is rilly pushing down on them to make it rilly have a long suspension travel. ive had this setup for a day and it feels much much smoother then stock ever was and still takes turns like a champ with no body roll whatsoever, im just curious to see what everyone has their agx's set on whic springs, and what the ride is like, maybe this will help others decide.so.......
progress springs, 3 front, 3 rear. |
Re: Just wondering what everyone has their agx's set to
i had 2front,4back as default...wanted something more stiffer, went with 2front, 6back......Then wanted even more stiffer and best performing handling so i went with 3front, 7back and i love the feel of the rode and handling , so im sticking with them.

2/4
I had it on 4/8 very nice around town, but it gets annoying on MN highways 2 front 4 rear is nich on the highway with progress springs. |
3 in the front and 6 in the back.

i haven't played around with the settings and am wondering what would be a good setting for ground controls with default spring rate?

B&G + AGX = 1 & 2 Smooth, yet nice and firm sporty ride.

With H&R's
Either 1/1, 2/8 or 4/8. 4/8 only for competition or track events. |
Like Njmaxseltd, I like it cushy >>

Is there minimal body roll even on the softest settings?
I remember the ride I took in njmaxseltd's car and hte body roll was like nothing, but I don't remember what settings they were on. |
with H&R...2/4 and it's too loose for me...gunna adjust I think. Possibly 3/6.
|
i find that the ride only becomes uncomfortable when the rears are tightened up due to there not being much load back there.

1f/5r I like how it bieng stiffer in the back makes the car rotate better in turns.

Kevin, body roll characteristics do change >>

My advice, start off with the 50% settings of 2 and 4, then alter the settings from there as you like. |

Originally posted by Albertt It seems as though the body rolls more on sharp transitions with the lighter settings. But for me, the extra handling isn't worth the discomfort. My advice, start off with the 50% settings of 2 and 4, then alter the settings from there as you like. Do you have H&R springs? was it that uncomfortable even with H&R's? I think My Eibach/Tok setup is a lot less comfy then I would like. Kevin |
Kevin: I went from stock GXE springs to H&Rs >>

i def agree, to get a great rotation of ur car stiffen up the rear more then the front to create a somewhat sway bar, i just made this thread so everyone understands how to adjust their agx's. for comfort i feel a stiffer front of 1-3 and keeping the rears not above 3 will provide that, for handling, probably keeping the fronts at 3 and the rears at 8 will help prevent the understeer, u dont want the front too stiff or ull get the understeer again.
