1997 GXE - Keyloss remote, lock and beep?

Hey all. My dad's 1997 Altima could beep its horn when using the keyless to lock it. His 2001 sentra can do the same. Can my 1997 Maxima GXE's keyless remote do this? If so, how do I make that happen, I couldn't find Sack Jhit in the manual about it.

That is 'cause you can't on our cars. My wife had a 99 altima and you could have it honk or not. Her new 2k2 max does the honk or not but our 4th gen max's do not. Who knows why, somebody trying to save money or something...... Probably took a whole battery of engineers to figure that one out.

Eh .. 4th gen's wink at you, they don't beep. Personally I think it's nice and less obnoxious.

I don't find it obnoxious at all. If I am walking away from my car, and I am not at an angle to see the 'wink', then I would like to hear an audible beep that tells me my remote is still working, and that my doors are locked, and my valuables will most likely still be in the vehicle when I return to it.

For my '97 GXE, I just press and hold the horn button on the remote for about three seconds (the horn will start sounding/lights flashing), then I hit the lock botton and it will stop and everything is nice and secure. I didn't know how that worked until my dealer showed it to me. I also didn't know that pressing the unlock button twice will unlock all the doors.

Bear with me, I've never had a keyless entry before and I just got my owner's manual two days ago.
