SNOMAX 5th Gen LCA's for sale

You may have seen that I do some nice Lower Control Arms. Until now they have been for the 4th gens only. I am getting more people asking me about the 5th gens.

Here are some pics of the 5th Gen arms I started doing:
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...-balljoint.jpg
This shows the MOOG ball join with new castle nut and cotter pin
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...n-bushing1.jpg
This is a good pic of the beefy ES poly-urethane bushing
http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n...n-Bushing2.jpg
You can see how well the bushings are greased. This prevents the squeeks some people complain about.

I started using NEW that's right NEW Control arms with an aftermarket bushing and ES bushings. That means, no waiting, no cores to deal with! THe price will be $189 per arm.

PM with any questions. i check that more often than this thread.

For some pics of the 4th Gens, follow this link:

If you follow the link, I have a few large pics in another thread. I added one of the before and after pics.

If you will note, I don't have 4th gen pics, because I have not done them yet. I'm doing this to start the process, just like I did the 4th gens. There's quite a lot involved in making jigs, etc to make sure you don't get a bent control arm.

But, follow the link, you will get the idea.

DrunkieTheBear Oct 23, 2008 07:04 PM

I have handled the 4th gens personally in my hands and installed them, these are better then OEM IMO. They are of up most quality and the people who have them love them, SNOMAX is a trusted member on the org. What he does for you all of us is a great service and you know you can expect an awesome product from him without any question.

Im down, my passenger side ball joint is toast and has been for a while and I think I heard a clunk on the drivers side now too...So in for both side here.

knight_yyz Oct 25, 2008 01:09 PM

I see, I thought you had redesigned them or something. I already did mine myself, still have the originals in my shed.

doublea Oct 26, 2008 05:38 AM

I would be down for both side for my 5th gen, but I have disposed of my both LCA's since they where damaged. I dont need the lateral link and bolt since Dave B just shipped brand new one last week and those are being polished at this time.

Can you please confirm how much you would charge me and I'll Paypal today.

Thanks you & best regards

AA

Do we have the option of getting them powder coated another color? If not how much shipped for the entire set up without the coating? I'll get them powder coated myself. I do a lot of car shows and do an under carriage display.

I like that idea too. :)

I am really impressed by these, based on your 4th gen thread. I had issues with ball joints and LCA bushings before, and definitely understand the weaknesses behind these. I will be taking these into consideration soon.

SNOMAX Oct 31, 2008 10:39 AM

I tried a powder coating--the issue is since I rebuild older arms, there are sometimes pits where the rust was sandblasted out, so the caoting does not look as nice. To clean them up takes too much time to get them to a "show quality" state.

Orgullo, let me send you a PM with the price and details.

doublea Oct 31, 2008 11:34 AM

Hey Snowmax, did you get my payment ?

Maybe what you can do is send the LCA just sanblasted without any coating, then each will have to remove the metal pit and grind all the edge and have those powder coated.

Please ship mine with the coating, I will sandblast them next winter while the car will be garaged and have it powder coated, but for now they'll just be fine the way you do it.

Thank you & best regards

The powder will fill those pit, when powder coating you can have scratch and little pit, the powder coater will just put more powder where the pits are and that will not show once cure.

My 2 cents

Bump! I am sarting a new group deal. I am no longer using old parts, just NEW control arms. All else is the same, aftermarket ball joint, ES Urethane bushings and now... your choise of black powder coating or truckbed liner coating.

Price is $189 per arm Plus Actual shipping. i will be using UPS for tracking since the post office has let me down :(

Get in on this! i will combine this with the 4th gens, so we only need 5 people from either 4th or 5th gens to get this moving. See Post #1 for details.

IM IN!!!

nismology Jan 5, 2009 06:41 PM

So these come with polished bushing pins? Any extra cost for this service? Also, do we have to send our old pins back as cores?

SNOMAX Jan 6, 2009 04:31 AM

Nismology, you bring up a good point I forgot to mention. I used to do the lateral links when refurbing cores. Now that I am working with new control arms, they don't send me the lateral links like I used to get from the junkyards.

If some people are interested in this, I can still do it, but they will need to send me their lateral links. The main reason I decided to make the switch was the quality the junkyard would send me. I spent a lot of time sourcing parts and I would say 40% of them were not up to my standards, so I had to get different parts.

This cost me a lot in time and shipping costs.

Also, you don't have to send anything back to me, which does save a little in return shipping.

So, to clarify, i am not doing the lateral links anymore, just the arms. I took out the picture in the post so people don't get confused.

SNOMAX Jan 13, 2009 07:11 AM

Everyone needs to get their payments in by 1/23/09 for this latest group deal. This way those that have paid are not waiting forever for those that haven't.

SNOMAX Jan 19, 2009 05:41 PM

Bump! If you are even thinking about these and haven't PM'd me yet, do so. I may be able to work something out with you even if you can't make the 23rd.

For the rest of you, send your payments in.

SNOMAX Jan 23, 2009 05:20 AM

Bump for the last day...

SNOMAX Oct 11, 2012 08:08 AM

I have a set of these made and ready to go. They have Mevotech ball joints and ES bushings plus the truck bed liner coating.

I made these for someone who backed out. So I need them gone. $129 a side or $199 for both, plus shipping. These are ready to be shipped out.

zero2sixtyZ Oct 11, 2012 05:44 PM

Are the Mevotech ball joints better than other OE replacements?

SNOMAX Oct 12, 2012 05:22 AM

I'd say they are about the same. I really liked the Moog, but the Mevotech seems like the same design and has the benefit of the urethane boot on the ball joint.

It's a minor difference but, for example: On the passneger side, the oil sensor seems to leak alot and damage the rubber ball joint boot and bushing. With the mevotech ball joint and ES bushing, there are no rubber parts in the control arm anymore.

SNOMAX Oct 15, 2012 12:35 PM

Monday Bump. I'll include a ball-joint separator with this if you buy this week!

Kevin Trout Oct 17, 2012 07:42 AM

PM has been sent.

SNOMAX Oct 18, 2012 07:05 AM

This set is sold. However, I still make these on a regular basis, so if you need a pair of Control Arms, PM me.

Thanks .org !
