I've got to get a CAI
 

Man, It's been raining and cloudy here for the past few days. Highs have been 85+- and lows have been in the 70's. This is a big change from the 98 - 100 degree weather last week!

I can really tell a difference, how cooler air gives the engine more power. I've got the Berk+Frank mid-pipe set-up. If the drop in temperature gives me this noticeable difference, I'm sure the Injen or PR intake can do.

I thought about buiding a partially enclosed heatshield, but I'm afraid I'll loose the benefit of the underhood air flow due to it being partially enclosed. I've read some post on the Injen and it looks sweet and seems to perform great too, but I'm not ready to buy another intake yet.

I guess I'm just looking for a way to stablize the temperature because I love the effect of cold air!!

Go for the Place Racing CAI, sold on CustomMaxima.com. It has the new Monster Flow cone filter. I have this same setup on my ride (except w/ K&N filter) and love it. In the fall, winter, and spring Max screams with lots of extra horsepower.

The hole is hidden by the battery, so I doubt anyone would notice on a resale-especially if you glue a piece of black plastic over it. And as far as service there is no need to worry about it, I've had my service, and even warranty work done with no problems.

(The only concern would be if you had a need for air intake warranty work, and then you would want to replace the stock box first. Then, I'd just do as above and replace the stock box and then glue a black piece of plastic over the hole to conceal it. As I said it is hidden by the battery, and it would take someone looking for it to notice it.)
