I'm on H&R's and I still have about 3 finger gap in front.....
I have H&R's in my car and I still hav about good 3 finger gap in front. My friends around me used Eibachs and theirs are barely 2 finger gap in front. Isn't H&R's suppose drop more than Eibach?
My friends around me with Maximas, used Eibachs and I'm the only one with H&R's. BTW my friends drive SE and mines GLE does that matter?? |
well if they are 5spds then there is the difference the transmissions make the difference in the manual the fronts sit lower cause of something to do with that versus the automatic you have (gle gotta be an auto) i would say that is the problem and answer if i remember back correctly

ok well then i'm stumped i gues... sorry for the ridiculous grammar it was 2:30am when i wrote that... i am almost ashamed i am not scholar but that was horrible

I think Eibachs are 1.5 and H&R are 1.4 .

Woo Cho, three fingers is about right. >>

H&R's for a 5th gen sit uneven unlike the eibachs.
with H&R's the rear will be lower than the front. eibachs sit nice and even for me :) |

'gurl is right, H&R is 1.4f 1.3r, but that is not universal. Some get more or less drop than others, because some stock Maxes are slightly higher or lower than others to start with, it is not an exact science. My H&R's have settled nicely though, and the rear gap is the smallest bit tighter than the front, but the car still crouches forward, because the front gap was WAY bigger stock to start with anyway. I have about the same gap front and rear as a nice stock BMW, which is all I ever wanted anyway. I never wanted to be SLAMMED, it looks good but for the roads I drive on its not practical. The ride of H&R's is excellent though. Ask your buddies w/ the Eibachs if they still have all their dental fillings... :D

well i have a 2k2 auto with h&r and SR20DEN has 2002 6 spd with eibach and he has about 1/8" more drop in front and same in back. although h&r says 1.4 and 1.3 and eibach says 1.3 and 1.0 who knows were they get these numbers.
|
Wow, lots of misinformation here. Eibachs lower you less than H&Rs. Just give it a few weeks, they will settle more and you will have less gap.

For you lazy people, here's the information from the first post in the FAQs:
How low will my car be with these springs? Inches (front/back) Eibach 1.3, 1.0 (stiff) H&R 1.4, 1.3 (near stock) Progress 1.7, 1.5 (near stock) Intrax 1.75 all around Sprint 2.0 all around (stiff) B&G 1.6, 1.6 Ground Controls adjustable (very stiff) MaxSpeed 1.7, 1.4 (near stock) |
Yesterday at the S.L.A.P. show in Vista Cali, many people said the same thing. I have Eibachs, and I was sitting lower than other people on different springs. And that wasn't the first time I've heard it. I have had my springs on for about 35,000 miles and there were people who had there springson for a while there, and mine still sit lower. Who knows why...
|
I just installed H&R's and my car is dropped more in the back, and I also have about a 3 finger gap in the front. I would say yours in normal.
|
I have eibachs and I have 4 finger gap. But I have a really small hand, so my 4 finger gap is prolly like 3finger gap to others.
|
i installed H&Rs about 10 days ago. i have a 2 finger gap in back and about a 3.5 finger gap in front.

Who knows why... for those of you that want more a drop like those maxima's youve seen... make sure to notice if theyre on the stock alloys or if they have aftermarket wheels. because i think an aftermarket tire/wheel combination can make a car appear to be lower by filling up the tirewell more. someone slap me if i'm talking crazy. :) |
SLAP!
Ha! Just kidding. But seriously, rims and tires can affect that both ways. If you have aftermarket rim tire setup, and the overall diameter of the tires is smaller, like 235/40 17 for example, your wheelgap will look larger, if you go to a size where your tire wheel combo is larger in diameter, like a 245/50 17, then you will see less wheelgap... So that is a factor both ways based on what you have. |
well...some peopl just have fat fingers than others...so dun worry about it..u prob have thin fingers :D
give it a few weeks and let it settle. |
I have H&Rs on my auto and the front is too high. About 3 finger gap, thats why I ordered some Sprints. 2" drop and stiff as hell, just how I want it to be. The H&Rs are too close to stock for me..your drop sounds normal
|
Originally posted by lcf i think bc your tires arent stock, combined with the weight of your system might have something to do with your "lower" drop. for those of you that want more a drop like those maxima's youve seen... make sure to notice if theyre on the stock alloys or if they have aftermarket wheels. because i think an aftermarket tire/wheel combination can make a car appear to be lower by filling up the tirewell more. someone slap me if i'm talking crazy. :) |
Re: I'm on H&R's and I still have about 3 finger gap in front.....
Wait few months and the gap will get smaller that is because it takes a while for the springs to adjust;)

I got H&R and Tokicos...
The real sits lower and looks nice :) ... but the front has issues... i have a 3 finger gap as well. Trying to get my hands on a body kit, I think a body kit will help even the looks just because, hehe |
