I own a 99 I30t which is just big enough for me to be comfortable in, I'm 6"3. So today I go to the Infiniti dealer and test drive a new I35, but no matter how I tried I couldn't seem to get the driver's seat to extend out as far as the one on my 99. My question is: Is the interior of the 2002 I35 smaller than that of the 99 I30's?

My answer is: No.

i drive both a 5th gen and a 4th gen, and the 5th gen definitely has the larger interior. that being said, it is possible that the 5th gen's seats do not go as far back as the 4th gen. even if i were to try, it would be hard for me to notice a difference since im only 5'9".

I will have to look into this further. Maybe what you say is true about the seats not going back as far as on the 99, to give the rear seat passengers more leg room. I was really hoping to get a new I35, or even possibly a G35. I think I will go test drive a 2002 Maxima next, and see if I notice a difference.

I was cruising the Infiniti lot recently and down here at least they are offering great deals on the I35. That car is really sharp (even if is a jazzed up Maxima). The G35 is a different beast though, so drive both and than decide.

I think my I35 has a little more room than my 4th gen did. I am 6' 1".

that sounds weird.. A 5th gen is a lot more bigger inside than a 4th gen. When I ride in my bro's 5th gen, it feels like I"m in an astrodome!!

The easy way to figure this out is to take a measuring tape from the edge of the drivers seat to the gas pedal when it is pushed back as far as possible. See if the meausurement is lasrger on the I35 vs I30
