KYB dust boots and upper strut mounts...need'em?
 

For anybody that installed KYB struts on their 5th gen, did you also install KYB dust boots? What about the 4th gen front upper strut mounts? I just got GR2 struts to go with H&R springs and would like to know people's thoughts/opinions on whether these add-ons are necessary. Also, did you use some sort of cover for the spring end coils to prevent noises? If so, what?

u definitly need the 4th gen strut insulator. and u can re-use the rubber piece for the spring from your old ones...for dust boot...I heard it is not necessary and I didnt use it. just trim your bump stop.

Don't you want to protect the strut cylinder from dirt and dust????

will dirt and dust go into the shock cylinder? my installer told me it is not necessary and I havent read any study about dustboot.

Would you want dirt and dust going into a gas cylinder? I am pretty sure you wouldn't want to or even want dirt and dust from touching the cylinder itself (you know the shiny part that's clean). If it comes stock like that, I think it would be a good idea.

I was told not to buy either one. I would have needed the strut mounts, but I have the Stillen camber kit, therefore I need none of that crap. I get them on Friday.
