who's bought a max from carmax?
the carmax out near DC is selling them for under invoice"no haggle price"plus tax, tags, title, proc fee.

I almost did this, but it would have required swapping out the trip computer/odometer. I also considered the possiblity of resale problems down the road. In retrospect it might have been worth it to save 5K or more.

dude, don't do carmax...they are more expensive than a bunch of others...trust me. people just go there for the no haggle price....which in turn they end up getting ripped off...

I bought mine from Carmax in White Marsh MD. I was pretty happy overall. It was quick and easy, and I didn't get ripped. I got my 2k2 6-speed for just a couple bucks over $27k. This was back on January 1st when the 6 speeds were still fairly new. The car stickered for $30,400. They were cheaper than everyone else back then. Just don't expect a warm and fuzzy buying experience. They are very rigid and their service dept stunk (I only used them once).
