Orgers know there sh#t
 

Hey guys I just got an invitation from the dealer a Private service clinic. Yea right; May I rip you off clinic more like it. You go in and they survey your ride and suggest various programs to part you and your hard earned cash. No one is going to take my mod money away! Well while I was there thanks to thread "13 Tweaks you don't know about" I asked that they change time values of my headlight autoff duration. The service guy looked at me and had no clue. I pulled out a copy from the org how to change it through OBD II utility. He took it and was gone. 10 min later he called me into the lions den. I walked into the shop and there were 4 techs standing by my ride all looking at the printout from Max.org. They asked what values I wanted changed as they cycled thru that pod. We need to get one of those bad boys! All the engine parameters were there and I jumped at the chance for them to advance my timing 2-3 degrees. They were willing to do this but the tech quickly said to the service guy document this so that if anything happens there not responsible. Well I'm no gear head and if someone can tell me the benefits of advanced timing thanks. The 4 techs said they never heard of doing this to a 2k2. I would of been the first but they talked me out of it. Orgers know there sh#t alright. Thanks to all who take there time and truely learn how to tweak these cars to the Max. Dealers should plug into this forum and stay on the bleeding edge. Don't aleinate, share the wealth as all orgers do!!! Freehold NJ

as for your timing...Techs are DUMB. I think the most you can go is 17 degrees. as long as you run 91+ octane, you will be fine. On my SE-R (92) we got a few HP, and that was on a 140 HP motor. so, on the max, it might be more. It would be nice to see dyno #'s of stock timing and 17.....

And, and advancing your timing gives you more power...and the best part is its FREE!! :D
