Could somebody have tried prying my HID's off?

I was replacing the bulbs on my 2k2 the other day and noticed that one of the the plastic tabs holding the headlight's in place was cracked right where the bolts go in.

Could this have been a sign that someone tried to tamper with the lights or could it have been over torqued from the factory. Will this cause any problems in the near future?

Thanks.

Notice any NY/NJ plates in the area recently?

j/k

If it was from 'other than accidental reasons'...that SUX!

Is there any noticeable vibration due to a not fully secure bracket? I would think that might be your only problem.

Well i haven't noticed any unusual vibration, in fact - for the life of me - i couldn't even pull the headlight's out to install the bulbs. I ended up just doing it the hard way.

If it's a common crack i guess i can live with it.

Well, when i installed may AE housing, i cracked one of my tabs by, yes over torque'n the bolt.

didn't completely split, but about a third the way. i might try and cement rubber glue it together or just leave it alone cause it hasn't gotten bigger.

Technically it would be "is common" or "crackS...are common." I don't really care if emax finished 4th grade or not because he has the guts to try anything and as a result has the fastest NA 2K2 around.

All in fun.:)

Vibrations will cause those pieces to have small cracks. :(

Whew, you had me worried Soundmike, I thought the epidemic had reached our city! I was about to run out to the parking garage to check on mine when I read your thread title. Luckily in your case it was nothing to be concerned with.
