Maxspeed with 18's

Can anyone show me how Maxspeed springs will look with 18's. I always see kloogy drop but he is running 19's.

Also, what should I be paying for them, and do I need an alignment kit?

I want to buy them tommorrow.

Thanks
Nice

Search for MaximaDave. He has maxspeeds with 18s. Theres a GD going right now for them and you shouldnt need an alignment kit.

With the people with maxspeeds... Are you running stock shocks/struts? And if yes... How long will they last and what are the downs on running the springs with stock setup?

Igor911 Dec 15, 2002 07:26 AM

Also does any1 have a before and after? How long will the maxspeeds last? Is their another spring that you like better?

I just bought chrome ADR Dolces off of DOHCCivicNA1250 on eBay, and I've been running Maxspeeds on my stock shox for the past 15,000 miles. There is some light knocking and squeaking I've NEVER been able to fix in the rears, but I BARELY NOTICE IT and I'm sure I'll get it right when I switch to other shocks :)

It's great to see pics of other Max'es on 18s and Maxspeeds...makes me very excited, looking forward to the spring! :D

Why is it that some rides look great dropped with Maxspeeds and some still look like 4x4s or drop too uneven? Kloogs looks good and so does Daves, but others, not so hot. Making me afraid mine'll turn out not so hot

Tire makes some what of a difference also. Im running 40 series Kuhmos and I can only get two fingers in the wheel well all the way around. I think certain brands are a little different when it comes to the profile. They may be the same profile number wise but the tire may be a little thicker depending on the brand.

It probably has more to do with people running 245s vs. 235s, as the 40 series is just a ratioof tread width to sidewall height. A 235 has a shorter sidewall than a 245.

Thanks guys I got the Maxspeeds for $99 shipped. If I don't like the way it looks I will be selling them and getting something else. Most likely I wouldn't be installing until I get my struts and my sway bar; my FSTB came today.

Nice

Check out my homepage for before and after pics. And yes I am running stock and its holding up pretty good (knock on wood), But im sure the ride would be alot better with aftermarket stuff, I love my drop its just perfect and I love taking corners at double the posted speed limit.:D

It could also be due to settling. The springs settle over time. If the pics were taken right after the installation it still could look not as low as you'd expect, but over time, say a few months, when the springs settle it should shoe a nice drop.

I could be wrong, but that's my $0.02 :)
