Star is 100% better than Koeppel. I had nothing but problems with Koeppel. Also, Star has the Nissan award for excellence. The service manager is Steve Hausman. Nice guy

I've been dealing with Habberstad Nissan with good results so far. Today I called them and my opinion is starting to change. They won't replace my rotors or pads with 2200 miles on the car even though they are vibrating like crazy - all they'll do is cut them. I also keep on having to bring my car back because "We had to order the part".

I will say they have a professional operation, but I'm starting to see why people hate Nissan service. I bought a new car for the service, now I feel like I'm not getting that. I think the next car will have to be a BMW.

The only mods I have are a stereo system and clear corners. I'm not puttin on my FSTB or RSB until I get it back from the dealer. I'm also gonna lock my trunk and disconnect the power wire from the amp when I bring it in...I just don't want the head aches.

Habberstad's not a bad dealership; I like the fact that you can drive into the dealership garage and have them take your car in, rather than have to park it outside of a service dept, go in, and tell them what needs to be done. Then you have to wait until the next mechanic is available to pull your car in. And plus, they had a few hot chicks at the service counter, and in the sales floor so you have something to look at to kill the time. :D

Baron is off of glen cove RD, right next to powermotors, the service manager has some name like Frank Rogers or something.

I'm pretty sure that I went to the parts department there and caught a look at their garage. What a discrace! It looked like a chop shop. It was filthy and didn't appear at all like they were concerned about the quality of the work they put out. I was very turned off by it.

Not to mention, they didn't have the part that they said they had 1/2 hour before when I called and drove there like a maniac before they closed.

Dan Ziegler is a salesman there and a fellow .Org member(Bluefish)
He's good people and will do what he can to hook you up!

not to mention when i asked them to fix something covered under warranty, it was returned to me without being fixed!

Smithtown is a little out of the way but I'm willing to go there if the service department will just do their job. Can Dan Ziegler vouch for the operation? Or is it just hit or miss depending on who you get?

Also, if you happen to know are there any trains to Penn Station from Smithtown?

Thanks!

Looks like Smithtown is the only one on LI with good reviews...

At one time, Smithtown's salesgroup use to be pretty bad (this is before Dan Ziegler's time) and everyone I've heard who's gone there never bought anything. I bought my Max at Smithtown, and have to say I was pretty impressed with their customer service related to sales. Now on the service dept side, I find them ok, but I think I like Habberstad better. :)
