Have people had problems even with the stock air box on? I know there are problems with aftermarket intakes, i.e. oil getting on the sensor.

There have been significant less people with MAF problems that have stock intakes. I kept track of them for a while and at the time the failure rate with aftermarket vs stock intake was almost 10:1. The failures may have been reduced when people started using the dry Apexi instead of K&N filters but I'm not sure that either are completely safe.

I just had my MAF sensor replaced, I was using Stillen POP-intake. They replaced it under warranty, not too much hassle. They didn't try to blame the intake, especially since there was a TSB. Just FYI.

MaineI30, what kind of problems were you having with the bad MAF? How was your car behaving? I might have the same problem.
