One of the Baker-Jackson infamous "screamer" ads? Even if they have it in stock, it's "rental" quality with no options.

Yep! The advertised cars are usually of several kinds: (1) like Green 2kSE said, no options, (2) have some miles on them (demo/test drive/sales manager's car), (3) don't exist at all (they tell you we just sold it when you get there, and try to sell you a more expensive model), or (4) it's a color that nobody wants (although all of Max's colors are pretty good, some better than others, but no real "horrendous" one).

I bought my 2k3 max grey lustre off an add just like that.. however, other dealers with similar ads to my dealership's ad also added crazy fees when I walked in:

"Yeah we have the car, but we need to add $500 for advertising fees, $495 destination, $190 for mudguards, etc... "

Look for the fine print at the bottom, that usually saves the dealer any legal hassle.

At the bottom of the advertisement it says "Dealer Participation May Affect Final Price". Yep, it a come on ad!

I bought my 2K2 maxima se using one of these ads in Mass. Guess what, I got the car as advertised $21,999.00 back in January of 2002 and thats what I paid for mine. I wish I would have waited till now to buy, they are selling 2k3's for around 19-20k. And by the way, the dealer had over 20 in stock for sale at the advetised price. In regards to the comment made about rental quality with no options, a Base Maxima SE is equiped with more features standard than most other companies offer. ie..power windows, locks, AC, floor mats, painted mudflaps, ground effect kit thing under the doors, power drivers seat am/fm cd/cassete and the controversial 255hp V6.

2k2.6spd Dec 31, 2002 02:17 PM

those ads arent just for the cheap models..i got my fully loaded 6spd advertised as 5000 off. so i got a fully loaded with 60 miles on it for 25 k. those can be good deals sometimes.
