Anybody was trying to pry the 2k2's intake midsection apart??

I am just wondering is it possible to pry the 2k2's intake midsection apart?? cuz i know there is a filter in that midsection and see if i can remove that so i dont have to get the mid pipe.

any advise is appreciated:)
