Maxima vs Crossfire?

Anybody know who would win?

Have you guys seen the Crossfire commercial, it looks kinda cool.

What kind of engine does it have and what can we as Max owners expect as far as competition from this car?

Maximam 01-28-2003 05:37 PM

"The Chrysler Crossfire is powered by a supercharged 2.7-liter, 275 horsepower (205 kW), 270 lb.-ft. (366 Nom) V-6 engine coupled to a five-speed manual transmission. The custom independent short-and-long-arm front and rear suspension uses coil springs placed over the shock absorbers. The Crossfire is estimated to achieve 60 mph. (97 kph) in 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 148 mph. (238 kph)."

Its a pretty nice looking ride except for Celine Dion all up in it
:D

That's what most people say about our Max but it still doesn't answer the question.

Damn, I know it'll beat a 2k, so according to the times you mentioned it should hand the 2k2/2k3 its' @$$ as well, I wonder what the 2k2/2k3 guys think about this.
Any takers or $hit talkers.

irvine78 01-29-2003 03:10 PM

well, the supercharged version was for the show...they're now saying a normally aspirated 3.2 liter motor from the MB320 will find its place in the engine bay coupled to a '6' speed, not 5.

bk2kmax 01-29-2003 03:35 PM

Since it isn't going to be supercharger and it's going to use that MB engine, will it still be able to hand the 2k2/2k3 it @$$?

That car, I think, was designed to compete with the SLC 430, G35 Coupe, 350Z....
Notice how all of those cars look SIMILAR.

I DO like how it has 19's in the back and 18's in the front. It looks sharp, but I will keep my Max :D

1swtmax 09-22-2010 04:08 PM

wtf

fishpony 09-22-2010 04:14 PM

This is the oldest thread i have EVER seen bumped..

I'm sure the crossfire is light, so who knows. google the 1/4 mi times.

rosader 09-22-2010 04:18 PM

6spd02 why are you waking up all these threads from the grave? lol

2damax 09-22-2010 04:22 PM

you ever read an old thread and not know it was old until you finished reading it.

prodigy401 09-22-2010 04:25 PM

crossfire is one ugly thing

Child_uv_KoRn 09-22-2010 04:42 PM

It's slow. Bone stock 03 Z walks away from it no problem.

QNO_A32 09-22-2010 05:18 PM

even a 300c HEMI gets walked on by a decent 5.5 6speed

junglee Z 09-22-2010 05:40 PM

5.5 maxima 6 speed would destroy the crossfire!
my brothers 2003 accord v6 6 speed with bolt ons put 2 cars on the supercharged one.
and a 5th gen maxima 5 speed vq35 with just intake & exhaust put 2-3 cars on his accord.
crossfire would get a nice hurtin'

5 ltr. beater 09-22-2010 06:12 PM

my buddy has a 747 jet and wants to run...do you think my max stands a chance?

Why do I feel like half of this thread is run by 5 year olds? It tried to die in 03, let it go away.

Whaa, not tru buddy, stock for stock that 300C will show the 5.5 what it dreams about... not happening with the C..... go ahead, try it........ well lemme rephrase that line, the max could beat the R/T 300C.... definately not the SRT8

NmexMAX 09-23-2010 06:14 AM

Hmmm, I'm in a fair mood this AM ... don't turn my mood upside down as the day goes by :ban2: .
