Engine oil flush ...

I recently took my 200 GLE to have a service tech ride with me and he agreed I have a transmission problem, so they will be doing the TCM-solenoid fix.

While sitting around in the waiting room I noticed all the adds for those Oil Power Flush and transmission flush and whatever else (I thnk they can also do coolant and maybe something else).

Does anyone have an opinion on the services?

I'm not sure the cost, but I'm sure they are not cheap.

I remember the other dealer I went to regading my transmission slipping quoting me something like $300 for a A/T flush service. They acknowledged the transmission was slipping, but said it was because I needed the 30K mile transmission service, not the TCM replacement.

For the transmission, it was probaly a B&G Flush which is worthwhile, but should not cost more than $160.00.

I believe the engine oil flush is done by a Bilstein machine. I don't know anything about that one.

Do a search by person, bill99gxe (moderator and oil guru)and you will find useful info about flushes, oils, etc.
