Heads up on 4th gen AGX's Group Deal $330....

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=190229

$330 after 5 people....325 for first 5 people...so far there are 3 people and 2 more needed. sick price if you ask me. i'm in the #2 slot.

for newbies or people who don't know, the 4th gen agx's modified can fit 5th gens. at $330, it sure beats gettin cattman's $500 set.

just heads up on anyone lookin to get suspension.

Do you realize what it takes to modify them?

It's not easy or safe to do.

Cattman barely recoups the cost he spends to mod them, because it's a PIA and requires a skilled welder.

like i said at the GD post, jeff at max tuning has successfully done it a few times. i spoke to RBa about this, so if he'd like to jump in, that would help.
i mean all i've heard is good stuff about max tuning, so i really haven't thought about actually worrying about this stuff. never been there, but it sounds like he knows what he's doing. from what i understand, it's expanding the strut mount holes, shaving off a bit off the bottom strut section and getting 4th gen strut mounts, that which jeff can get for a good price as well.

Yeah, I've been hearing more and more about Jeff.

However, are you sure he is going to RELOCATE the lower mounts, ie weld on additional plates and re-drill holes for the bottom bolts? It's NOT just shave the top of a 4th gen mount. The lower bolt spacing is different.

If he is willing to do this and LIABLE incase it fails, $330 is a steal.

i'm going to assume that's what RBa meant when he said the mount holes had to be expanded. that's what let's it fit.
Raf2k just jumped in on the deal, making him #4 and he's not worried at all about jeff doing it. jump in man, it's a steal.

Considering his cost is just north of $300 for the AGXs, I doubt he's willing to spend a few hours welding/re-drilling holes for <$30. It just sounds too good to be true. I'd call him to double check if I were you.

Let me know how it turns out though!

ok, now you got me confused. the set is $330 (or $325 for first 5 people) shipped.

jeff is charging $200-$220 for the intall which includes the strut mounts. so it's about $140-$160 that he's charging for installation, which includes whatever modification necessary. where's RBa, he just did this a few weeks ago so he'll tell you what jeff did.

I'll just pay the $425 from Cattman for the modded ones for the 5th gen.

Ok, that makes more sense. He must be charging more for 5th gener installs to make up for his extra labor. That's still a pretty sweet deal, but I guess you have to live nearby to take advantage.

Also, they must be cheaper than $300ish wholesale now, because it includes shipping. When they first came out, I was told they were around $300 wholesale price, but clearly they are cheaper now since it's probably $20-30 for shipping.
