What's the best way to touch up the paint on my car? I've got some chips on the front of the hood and don't want to just blob on the paint.

Somewhere in the BBS thewre is an excellent treatise
on paint touch-up. Maybe you can find it with the search. Basically, you use a toothpick to have the paint fill the chip with a capillary-type action. It takes time and patience, you need to repeat the process several times to overfill the chip, and then wet-sand or compound it back to level. The trick is to take your time.

I was just about to ask this very same question... thanks. :D

touch up
Use primer if bare metal is showing before you paint to prevent rust.

Can you use the regular touch up paint on the guards that run along your door? I have a few small chips from where other people have opened their door into mine. How about the bumpers ?????????
