I riced out my exhaust today...

Full 2.5" exhaust, mandrel bent. Dynomax Ultraflo muffler, Carsound high flow cat, no-name resonated tip... the thing is EVIL loud because there is no resonator, but tends to fart like a rice bucket if I rev (due to the resonated tip I think). Arghhh! And they say resonated tips will muffle noise.. they just make your car sound like CRAP! :)

Anyone here used a resonated tip/removed it and know what I'm talking about? I don't think it's the rest of the exhaust system... but then again I'm not an exhaust kinda guy.

But on the plus side, she pulls even more like a bat outta hell even when I hit just 1 lb of boost :)

Hehe thx :) I was after the TQ figures this time around: I saw some dyno sheets awhile back showing a nice increase (and 10whp too) by going all the way from stock+ypipe to 2.5".. we'll see at the track!

I'm impatiently waiting on my new tranny now hehe.. high stall TC!

The tip has almost nothing to do with the overall noise output of your exhaust. I'd suggest you install a resonator.

Whoops! I didn't see your post before, my bad... fire me up a PM with an offer - I don't wanna clutter things here with buy/sell stuff :)

I'm not sure if I'll be selling yet, but maybe :)

btw, you getting a rebuilt tranny with your current vb?? man, you've been riding that slipping tranny for quite a while now, eh?

Picked up a brand new one, but procrastinating the install.. the old one is fine now for some reason... I think the tranny cooler + cold weather might have played a role in the slippage; the Amsoil never got the chance to warm up (I hadn't seen it close to moving the tranny temp gauge).

As soon as the warmer weather came, the car started to act fine from "cold" start and on... meh..

I do think it would need a rebuild, but it shifts, and I have all the power I need to break the tires loose repeatedly since doing my exhaust and sampling the sound... so I dunno what to say, I'm confused!

I'll be taking her to the track on April 5th and we'll see what happens :)
