I love trance but I don't know what albums to buy? The only one I've really got is Paul Oakenfeld (sp?). But I do like the more hard core stuff that I hear on Digitally Imported Radio (internet radio station). Can you reccomend some good stuff?

Most of what I listen to in the car is Freestyle (the Johnny O / TKA /Stevie B genra for you youngsters) rap, pop, and ummmm....some clasical....but only with the windows closed :wall:

Man I'm old :(

I also listen to hip hop and trance/house/clubby sh!t. I have "NYC Underground, Vol.5", and it's got some nice tracks on it. I'd imagine the other volumes are good as well. Basically, you can check out, in addition to Paul Okenfold that you already have, CDs such as the Ibiza series (there are a few of them, usually something like "Ibiza 2002", or "Summer Ibiza 2001"), and then Ministry of Sounds series. I usually get my stuff off the net, and make my own mixes.

For rap, I have the 50Cent cd, but I think I've already played it out! haha Then I have some custom mixes with the likes of #1 Stunna, Coo Coo Cal ("In my projects" is tight), 2Pac (how can you not like him???), Mobb Deep ("Shook Ones" is another dope track), and some others on there.

If people want to post specific tracks that they like in any of these categories, we can compile a nice list to search for on Kazaa! :D

95% of the time:
Grateful ******* Dead

Zog Apr 11, 2003 07:17 AM

Mostly System of a Down, all three albums kick arse. And a lot of hip hop from the college days. #1 Stunna, and of course the greatest of all time,

BIGGIE

IMHO, I think 2Pac is the greatest of all time, but that's just MY opinion (and most of my friends too! :D )

Guinness Apr 11, 2003 07:30 AM

1- Brit rock (Radiohead and Coldplay mostly)
2- R&B and Rap (Eminem, R. Kelly, 2pac, etc)
3- Talk Radio (AM640 Mojo radio for guys in Toronto is great)

Agreed. I didn't post to start an argument, just wanted to see what anyone else thinks (without trying to show one is better than the other). I really like Biggie's stuff too, just think 2Pac is better, but once again, just my opinion, and I respect yours.

Thanks for the info! I've searched KaZaA but I can never find any good trance. I have been debating for about 3 months whether or not to buy CDs as I have not done that in about 5 years. :wall: Not to mention, the Trance CDs I was looking at were in the $30 - $40 PER CD!!!!

If you like trance, definitely check out Digitally Imported Radio

I don't listen to it through the PC, but rather use my Audiotron in my Home Theater that streams it through my network and on to my speakers (with 2 - 15" subs) :D

jjs Apr 11, 2003 08:08 AM

OK, so time to show my age....

definitely Pink Floyd...nothing like haulin' down a highway to Comfortably Numb or Welcome to the Machine nice and loud.

:D

H2O and Pennywise = :ben:
I also like some of the "older" rap, Wu Tang, Biggie, but i've always been a big Metallica fan. Black Sabbath and AC/DC kick arse also. Offspring makes me crazy when I drive, especially Smash.

Hell yeh...I don't know how you were planning on hookin it up, but to make it easier for you, if you have the names of artists/titles, just post them here...I can do the rest! :D

Also, for the other guys, lets post track names as well so we can compile a nice SPECIFIC list of songs that we all like. That way the rest of us can go on and find them. Anyone else think we should do this, or am I being unreasonable?
