As it was said, those are the Nissan 'published' figures. Would you like to know the real numbers for the 2002 and 2003?

The generally agreed upon numbers are 240hp and 265tq.

And thats from dozens of dynos from stock 2002 & 2003 Maximas and Altimas.

BioMaxDDS 04-20-2003 12:46 PM

what's the dyno # for 2000 and 2002?

consumer 04-25-2003 08:12 AM

a consumer lawyer who is investigating claims that maxima's horsepower is lower than as published can be reached at consumerlawyer2003@yahoo.com!

consumer 04-25-2003 08:18 AM

horsepower high

Well, I am wondering if it is true what people say that the horsepower on 5th ge. is lss than Nissan says it is. I know a lawyer who is investigating claims that Nissan mistated its horsepower...he can be reached at consumerlawyer2003@hotmail.com. Do you think this holds some water or not?

Things are not looking good for nissan

First its the paint chips
Then theres the Hesitation (lack of power)
And now the horsepower?

Nissan, you did good with the early 5 gens (00,01) (besides the paint chips) whats going on?

Please observe the previous statements.

Hp is indeed overrated but the torque is underrated by the same margin.

The hesitaion has been fixed as a TSB with a ECU software upgrade.

The paint does suck donkey balls and thats probably the biggest thign that will bite them in the ***.

Then here comes another question.

What kind of dyno's are these knuckleheads @nissan using?

And damn if we had 240 hp, this would mean that the new accord would give us a race. If i was to lose to an accord I would go nuts. (i hate hondas)

I don't see '03 sedan AV6's running 14.7's stock like some of the '02+ Max's do (autos only :)). They hit 15.0-15.1 so far...

consumer 04-25-2003 05:02 PM

hp

i would like to know what is the basis for thinking that the horrsepower on the maximas has been lower than published by maxima, and for what cars/years this is supposed to be true.

Larry 04-26-2003 02:44 PM

My bone stock Maxima dynoed 194.1 peak hp and 205.4 torque.
