NX kit (wet) with 15 lb bottle... currently setup up for 35 shot but may increase the shot if the car is running rich.

You sound so confident with your statement. :grinno:

Maxman2000 04-22-2003 08:08 AM

How many ponies does she have now kev????

Maximum Velocity 04-22-2003 08:10 AM

 I only have one thing to say: I think Kev is running out of things to put on his car. Where's that Evo VIII?...okay, so maybe two. :D

NT2SHBBY 04-22-2003 08:10 AM

I think you need to let a matador borrow your engine...you got enough red in there to tame a wild bull!

IceY2K1 04-22-2003 10:01 AM

Should have got...

..the CF bottle.:slap:

Would have matched the rest of the CF parts :chebosto:

Also, why would you spend $500 on a NX kit plus $30+ to fill the bottle each time, when you could just *click*click*click* for free? Got lag?

njmaxseltd 04-22-2003 10:06 AM

No clue... haven't had a chance to dyno yet.

EVO VIII has taken a back seat. :)

If you think it looks messy now... let's say it looks messier without all that stuff.

Can't use the bottle heater on CF bottles. :(

Not bothered with the lag at all. Why nitrous? Because the injectors max out after a while, so I need to think of other ways of getting more power. Wet kit is nice since it doesn't tax the injectors. Hehehe

'03 Cobra injectors (39#) almost fit. I think they just need different plugs. And I can get them new for $30 each. :naughty:

Are our injectors different then 4th gens? If not, you could follow Mardigras and use 370cc injectors.:naughty: However, the NX kit is cheaper than injectors, but you don't have to keep refilling.

WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO DYNO!?!?!?!?!?!

VQ30 or VQ35?

Jer 04-22-2003 10:32 AM

Like I just said in the Nitrous forum.. you're crazy man!

BEST of luck though. If you pass the 500fwhp mark I will personally come down to your home and take you out to dinner. (Please don't crank up the NX kit to do it just once because I really need the cash for my car).

VQ30DE-K and VQ35DE . The 95-99 motor uses the side feed injectors.

RC sent me some dummy injectors to test fit, but those suckers are 1/2" too long. I haven't taken off the manifold to test fit, but from eyeing the fittment... the fuel rail will hit the VIAS box. :(

How close are the Cobra injectors to fitting? Just the connectors? Is the impedence the same? If so, this would be cool. :jump:

SRiceJuice answered your question. I can always just use the fuel line from the kit as an additional injector.

Dyno? Hehehe... * patiently waiting for fartcan *

How did that happen?

Axel 04-22-2003 11:13 AM

The only thing I can think off is too much Solo-1 racing.
I thought the VQ30 would be able to handle a season of road track racing...I guess not...

K Pazzo 6 04-22-2003 11:13 AM

I thought awhile back you said you wouldn't do rice juice? :D

P.S. we need to add this smiley & name it kev----> http://eclipseforums.org/images/smilies/nxsmile.gif

[maxi-overdose] 04-22-2003 12:28 PM

congrats Kevin....all you missing now is the SC on the passenger side.

Jer : if you are going to visit Bay Area....be sure to let me know!

hehe no plans for now - maybe at the end of summer - I plan on road-tripping a bit :)

Of course, I will have to keep up to my promise if Kev's dyno numbers go high enough.... and they stay there :D

Well, I changed my mind. Boost can only go so far since it raises the fuel pressure everytime boost is increased. The NX kit doesn't increase FP at all so

I was thinking about adding that smilie to the forum.

Use the SC to feed the turbo. :nervous:

let's just say one of the pistons no longer wanted to habitate the VQ block and decided to make an exit.

he knew something was wrong when i pulled on him and beat him in the 1/4 mile...he's manual and i'm autotragic  then he dynoed almost 40hp lower than me, practically the same mods

Pretty much. I asked the service manager if they figured out what went wrong and he answered: "Nissan has approved the warranty work. Do you really want them to take a deeper look and risk the chance of them finding something that can void the warranty?" My answer: "Hmm..no, it's ok, I can live with not knowing the details :)"

$6,000 USD and two weeks later, new engine...

Jer 04-23-2003 11:28 AM

Hey Axel will you be joining us with that broken in block on Sunday at St. Thomas?
