can't find TSB # for hood shudder
Anyone know the TSB number for the hood shudder problem? I looked
through the NHSTA site and can;t find in in 2003 or 2002 directories.
I'd search the .org for it but...
Anyone have a good or bad experience with getting the hood fixed?

The NTB you are looking for is NTB02-005. The NTB refers to, among other things, adding rubber strips over the headlamps. The part numbers are: Headlamp Pack, right hand - 26033-2Y900 and Headlamp Pack, left hand - 26083-2Y900.
Moreover, you can lower the hood latch and raise the hood bumpers. This should stop your hood from vibrating.

Thanks for the details. My Maxima is a 2003 SE, week old... wouldn't you think that this "mod" would be part of standard production at this point? The hood shudder scared the heck out a recent passenger who thought the hood was about to enter the driving compartment!

I have the actual TSB in PDF format if you'd like it.
If so, email me at a2k2wannabe (at) attbi (dot) com and I'll send it as soon as I check my mail.
Just so you know, it's 1 meg so if you ask for it, make sure you have room to retrieve it so it doesn't bounce back.
thanks,

The TSB found at that link says 2k1-2k2, will a dealership apply it to a 2k3 free of charge?
I just realized that my 2k3 had the hood vibration problem yesterday while washing it. Mine has a build date of 11/02.
