Viper 790 XV Question???

I got this alarm for my car....great alarm...only problem is that the same button to open the trunk is the same one for the factory panic button. I have been setting the panic button off a lot lately by accident. Mostly from having the remote in my pocket and cleaning the wheels of the car or something like that, you get the idea. And the only way to turn it off I think is by the key. Is there anyway to fix fix this?

Did you install the alarm system yourself or did you pay someone else do it for you? If you do, tell the guy to find the problem. Maybe bad wiring or maybe some wires got shorted.

Thats one bad *** alarm, I bought the model below it,happy with it too.Don't know why he did it like that but there is an aux button. On mine i have to press the open and close button to pop the trunk because i used the AUX button to open my windows.Personally i would have him re-do it panic button should be just for that IMO.

My trunk is opened by holding the Aux button and the panic button is the red siren button..

Hey PCGuRu2K

You have the same alarm I have and if you hold down the AUX button the factory alarm panic doesn't go off??????? If thats true then i will have to get it redone... Damn.... Try holding down the aux button for a about a sec or two after trunk pops. Let me know if yours goes off.

they wired it up wrong. in fact, they wired it all up wrong. everything is wired through channels. your aux represents a channel. that shoudl be wired to the trunk release wire.

i have the 790 as well and it's aux for trunk release, arm/disarm for remote start, panic/aux for all 4 windows roll down and panic for........duh panic.

if you wnat, check your 790 manual. i know there is a setting that let's you change something in your aux setup, maybe that's it?
