I'm thinking about going to 19"s but I want a good ride still. Does anyone have 19" or 18" Wheels, please tell me how they ride. And has anyone put 45 series on their 18"s. Thanks in advance.

I have 18s on mine with 40 series tires. I didn't realize how stiff and harsh it was on the ride until i put my stock 16inch steelies (with hub caps, of course) back on my car. I'm loving the ride with the stock 65series? tires...but, too bad they look like poop.

If you put 45series tires on 18s, you'll be running an overall larger rim/tire combo over stock and you'll be able to go faster (top speed) but accelerate slower. But your ride will be smoother.

I think they are 15's , GXE steel wheels right?

It will also afect the handling and maybe rub in corners.

Just go with the 18x8.0 with 235/40-18 or even 245/40-18 but 19's I think are too heavy and and Tires are expen$$$$ive. Ride will suffer whenever you upgrade to low porfile tires.

I'm rolling on some Racing Hart M5s. The ride is nowhere as smooth as the 16's but the 19's look a whole lot better

Heres the way I see it, You want a nice system with woofers, its gonna take up some trunk space. You want a nice body kit, its gonna shave off a few ground clearance inches, you want your car to look nice, go with the 18's or even the 19's and take away some of the smooth ride. I have 18's on my car and yeah its a little rougher but I like the way it looks. I have 40's on my car and I think its all right. I havent seen 19's but they must look even better. (depending on the wheel)

19" rims

19 inch rims will definitely look PHAT as hell but you're definitely gonna give up a lot in the comfort department.
Every bump will feel painful and every pothole you may accidentally hit will feel be agony.

I've been lucky so far. I have'nt hit anything too hard yet. (knock on wood). My rims feel solid. Its probally because they're forged. Only one complaint about having the 19"s.... weight. It's killing my gas mileage.

Hey thanks for the reply. What kind/size of tires are you running on your 19"s? You got to post some pics of your car. I haven't seen anyone in the org with 19" s. What type of shock/spring combo are you running? Thanks again for the reply.

I'm running 235/35/19 with eibach springs and factory struts.

tomI30 Feb 6, 2001 08:46 AM

Stock Shocks... And they still ride OK? Do you think that the 35 series is enough side wall? Racing Harts in a 19" 3piece must have cost you a pretty penny. Thanks again for the input.

19" ARE JUST FINE

HEY TOM, COMING FORM A GUY THAT HAS HAD EVERY SIZE WHEEL ON MY 2000 MAX FROM 17" T0 20". 19" ARE DEFINATELY THE BEST! I HAVE 19" MOMO M1 ON IT NOW AND IT IS A PHAT SET UP!

Re: 19

Thanks 2MAXSE. You went to 20" at one time? I live in Southern California and everyone has 19"s or 20"s on their cars. But most of those cars are BMW's and Mercedes with much better suspension than the Maximas. So do you feel the bumps alot with 19's? Can I ask what your set up is with Shocks, springs, and tires? Thanks for the reply.

Re: Re: 19

Right now I am using Tokico shocks. Eibach springs and facory struts. Can't seem to find those struts anywhere! I am runnning 235/35 continental sport contacts and 19x8.5 wheels. Everyone tried to tell me that 20" wouldn't fit with the car lowered. There was no rubbing at all and the ride was not as bad as you think. Anything other than stock will change your ride quality substansially! With 19" there is plenty of clearance. Give me an email address I will send pics. PEACE!
