can't install OBX exhaust b/c of rusted bolts

damn bolts on my max are rusted and i can't get the damn things off.

i've tried everything except a blowtorch and i was wondering how everyone else with exhausts etc. got their rusted bolts off.

all i have are some wrenches and sockets. and a hammer.

please help.

if not, i'm gonna have to pay my mechanic 50 dollars, which i don't have, to install the thing.

Impact gun :gotme: Worked for me :D Those things are on pretty damn tight.

I tried the impact gun on mine and it just stripped the bolts. So I did have to use the torches. What a pain in the a*S.

Your choices for removal are:

a) Blowtorch
b) Cut them off
c) Blowtorch

Heat the nut till it turns red and they come off like butter. :D

hey, have you tried using a breaker bar. my bolts would come come off for dear life, so i jacked the car up even MORE to give me more working space, and then i put in my wrench and added like a 4 foot pole to it, then i had my boy make sure it was secured on the nut and then i slowly pushed with the bar, i heard a snap and then they loosened up. give that a try. breaker bars work wonders.

edit: just noticed you have a 2k2 6-speed. if your'e in NY, bring it over, i can loosen those for you in a few minutes.
